Drone Attack Wounds Eight Israeli Soldiers in Southern Lebanon

(MENAFN) The Israeli military said on Monday that eight of its soldiers were injured after an explosives-laden drone struck forces operating in southern Lebanon.

According to the statement, two soldiers sustained moderate injuries while six others were lightly wounded in the incident involving a drone carrying explosives that hit their position.

The army also reported that it had intercepted more than 10 drones launched from Lebanon earlier in the day, targeting northern Israel as well as Israeli forces stationed in southern Lebanon, though it did not specify the total number of attempted launches.

It added that the air force is continuing operations aimed at neutralizing threats while conducting strikes against Hezbollah positions.

Since the beginning of Israel’s military campaign in Lebanon on March 2, Israeli authorities say 12 soldiers have been killed and dozens more injured during operations in the south.

Meanwhile, Lebanese authorities, as cited in reports, state that the conflict has resulted in 2,085 deaths, 6,762 injuries, and the displacement of more than one million people.
