S. Korea, UAE Expand Cooperation in AI Sector
(MENAFN) South Korea and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to deepen collaboration in artificial intelligence following a bilateral forum held in Seoul focused on advancing joint technological development, according to South Korea’s science ministry.
The meeting brought together government officials and industry leaders from both countries as part of an ongoing public–private AI working group established after South Korean President Lee Jae Myung’s visit to the UAE last year, as reported by Yonhap News Agency.
Participants from both sides emphasized the importance of building a strategic partnership in the AI sector amid intensifying global competition over advanced technologies.
Discussions centered on expanding cooperation in AI infrastructure supported by high-performance semiconductors, as well as developing AI-driven services based on language models tailored to each country’s linguistic and digital ecosystems.
More than 20 officials from the UAE attended the forum, including Mohamed Abdul Rahman AlHawi, undersecretary at the UAE Ministry of Investment, along with representatives from Emirati AI companies and state investment bodies, according to reports.
