Arab States Condemn Renewed Missile, Drone Strikes on UAE

(MENAFN) According to reports, several Arab countries have strongly criticized renewed missile and drone attacks attributed to Iran against the United Arab Emirates, marking a new escalation following a recently established ceasefire between Iran and the United States.

Separate statements from Qatar, Egypt, and Jordan expressed condemnation of the strikes targeting Emirati territory. The UAE authorities reported that multiple incoming projectiles were detected, stating that air defense systems intercepted a number of missiles and drones during the latest wave of attacks.

Officials also reported damage in the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, an important energy facility located on the UAE’s eastern coast, after it was struck by a drone. The incident led to a fire at the site. Local authorities confirmed that three foreign nationals were injured and received medical treatment.

Qatar’s foreign ministry issued a statement strongly denouncing the attacks, saying:

“the State strongly condemns the renewal of Iranian attacks that targeted civilian sites and facilities in the sisterly State of the UAE using missiles and drones, which resulted in the injury of three individuals of Indian nationality.”

The statement described the attacks as a serious breach of sovereignty and a threat to regional stability. It also reaffirmed Qatar’s solidarity with the UAE and expressed support for any measures taken to protect its security and territorial integrity, while wishing a swift recovery for those injured.

Overall, the developments signal renewed regional tensions amid fragile ceasefire conditions and heightened concerns over cross-border strikes targeting civilian and energy infrastructure.
