India Condemns Attack on UAE Energy Hub, Calls It ‘Unacceptable’
(MENAFN) India has strongly condemned an attack on the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone in the United Arab Emirates, describing it as “unacceptable” after three Indian nationals were injured in the incident, according to reports.
The statement from New Delhi comes amid renewed reports of missile and drone activity targeting the UAE, which mark the first such escalation since a ceasefire between Iran and the United States took effect on April 8.
A fire reportedly broke out at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, a major energy facility on the UAE’s eastern coast, after it was struck by a drone allegedly launched from Iran. Authorities in Fujairah confirmed that three Indian nationals were injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
India’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on Tuesday that the attack is unacceptable, stating: “We call for immediate cessation of these hostilities and the targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians,” he added that India continues to support dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred path forward, emphasizing the need to restore peace and stability across West Asia.
The incident has added to growing regional concerns over escalating tensions and the risks posed to civilian infrastructure and foreign nationals in affected areas.
