Heavy Rain Triggers Flash Floods, Evacuations in Southern China

(MENAFN) Intense short-duration rainfall has caused flash flooding in southern China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, leading to emergency evacuations and disruptions across affected areas.

According to reports, the downpour struck Qinzhou, where rapidly rising waters triggered sudden flooding conditions and left some residents stranded.

A newspaper reported that several schools were forced to suspend classes due to the severe weather and safety concerns.

Local emergency services responded quickly, with fire authorities dispatching 25 fire engines and around 150 firefighters to assist in rescue operations. By late morning, 30 residents who had been trapped by the floods were safely evacuated and relocated.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation as heavy seasonal rains persist in the region.
